RC Xtreme

Your trail at UR starts here.

College is a challenging environment in itself, but some students prefer more of an extreme challenge. RC Xtreme (RCX) gives first-year men who enjoy pushing their limits the opportunity to participate in a series of events and activities while living together. The RCX community, which is supervised by a member of faculty and RC staff, even has a dedicated resident assistant (RA) that helps plan all RCX activities and participates in the program. The RCX community is always tightly knit as a result of the shared experiences and activities.

Through weekend adventures on campus, in the Richmond area, and around the state, activities and events are carefully planned to never interfere with class or study time. While sharing their first-year experience with other students who have similar interests, RCX students, nicknamed Xtremers, learn a lot about themselves—especially how to realize their full potential. Xtremers can plan on having fun while bonding with other first-year Richmond College men.

RC Xtreme Activities

Although much of the program is based on physically challenging activities, no prior experience is necessary. Activities may include:

  • Ropes course
  • Whitewater rafting and/or kayak trip
  • Indoor rock climbing
  • Hiking on local trails
  • Snow boarding and skiing at local resorts
  • Paintball
  • Camping
  • Other adventures that students help choose
