Potential Research Projects
Through the fall semester, students will pursue an individual research project drawing from relevant parallelisms such as:
- "Moving" frontiers and resettlement policies
- Hibridity and purity: the nostalgia of origins and the birth of the Inquisition(s)
- Immigration and/as "conversion"
- Race, ethnicity and "second class" citizenship
- Language and/as power
- Religious and nationalistic zeal
- The effects of expulsion and deportation
- Generations: new idioms, new developments
- Orientalism and Hispanism
This individual research project will culiminate their fall semester course, add perspective for their community trip in January, and be the basis for their spring capstone project.
