Community Travel
To experience directly what students are learning in the classroom, the Post Blackness in the UK community will travel to London, England in November.
London, England
While in London, students will have the opportunity to meet with many of the scholars, artists and writers that they have studied in the class. Included in these visits are:
- Diran Adebayo, novelist of Some Kind of Black and "P is for Post-Black"
- Zena Edwards, spoken word artist
- Carol Tulloch, TrAIN SEnior Research Fellow in Black Visual Culture, University of the Arts: London
- Mykaell Riley, Grammy award winning musician, and head of music production at University of Westminster
While in London, students will also:
- Tour the Tate Museum with a private docent tour
- Visit the gallery and workspace of artist, Yinka Shonibare
- Visit the Saville Row storefront of famed fashion designer, Ozwald Boateng
