Community Travel

The Social Justice and Social Movements class will travel over fall break to Cleveland, Ohio to meet with scholars, community organizers, and government officials about the comprehensive anti-poverty and neighborhood revitalization effort undertaken there

Fall Break

While in Cleveland over fall break, the class will:

• Meet with organizers at West Side Market and tour the urban Ohio City Farm
• Meet with the owners of and dine at Edwins Leadership and Restaurant Institute
• Visit Chateau Hough and meet with the founder and creator, Mansfield Frasier
• Tour the Evergreen Cooperatives
• Meet with organizers at the Democracy Collaborative
• Meet with officials of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, as well as tour the city by public transportation
• Meet with citizen activists from Neighborhood Connections
