Community Travel

To help students connect what they are learning in the classroom, the What is Art For? community will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia over winter break. These experiences add context, as well as opportunities for students to experience the themes in the classroom first-hand and connect and engage with scholars and leaders in the field.

While in St. Petersburg, students will visit the following sites:

• State Museum of Russia
• Hermitage
• Museum of Leningrad (overview in English)
• Museum Cemetery (mass burial site during the Blockade)
• Attend an opera
• Attend a ballet
